LOST episode 2, Adrift, played last night... and despite a thunderstorm in Dallas that caused some people to miss half the episode, podcast #2 is coming your way on Friday.

1) Desmond
a. Are you him? - Desmond is wating to be relieved from duty. Maybe the cartaker of the island is chosen at random by or through the numbers. He was on his merry way around the world when the numbers brought him to the island. He got into the tunnles and the last cartaker told him what's up and passed the torch. Maybe Hurley is the new caretaker.
b. What did one snowman say to the other snowman? - Do you smell carrots? It's a password to id his replacement. Didn't Hurley tell this joke last season?
c. Is there still a world out there? - He's been isolated for so long it could just be a question anyone in his circumstances would ask. Or part of the reason he's still there is because he has been lied to about the state of the world.
d. How many are sick? - He may not have arrived on the island alone. Maybe the rest of his party got sick and he escaped from them into the tunnels where he found the old caretakers who pased the torch on to him. That stuff he shoots up is a vaccine.
c. Computer/timer/counter - He has to execute a command every 108 min to keep something bad from happening. Probably a self-disturct for the island. Whoever set up the experiment set this up as a fail safe. If things go bad, the experiment gets out of control and everone dies then the command isn't executed and the island blows up to prevent whatever they're up to from getting out.
2 The Symbol - It's a logo. Every evil organization that conducts weird experiments on islands needs a logo. The facts that it is asian leads me to believe that Sun's dad might be involved.
3. Walt's backstory - Mike giving him a stuffed polar bear in the flashback is interesting.
4. The Others - The people that attack the raft crew in the previews aren't the "Others" they are the tailenders that have been stricken by the sickness. The sickness probably drives you crazy. Some are immune like Frenchy. Some have take a vaccine like Desmond. Ana Lucia is in the hole in the previews because she is immune and her fellow survivors have gone nuts and thrown her in there. The Others are a different faction. Maybe the other people who were working on the experiment that got sick and went crazy. Part of Desmond's job is to keep them on the island and out of the tunnels.

7. Comments about the podcast? Things we should do better? - Great with the exception of Robert. He sucks the life out of the room.
