We thought we'd start posting a summary of the Official LOST podcast each week, to give a preview of what's to come on the next episode of LOST.
Fire + Water Preview
- In this episode, Hurley will have a romantic story
- Charlie and Claire's relationship will be a significant subject, including the tension caused by Claire's developing relationship with Locke. Does she see him as a father figure or more?
- There will be a flashback that takes place in London.
- Easter Egg! The writers tell us to check out the London skyline very carefully, and look for a famous "music" building. The signage on that building that might be a clue.
Season 2 Insights
- The Hunting Party was a precursor to where the show is going this season, focusing on conflict with "The Others."
- Here's a list of things we'll learn more about this season
- We will learn what happened to Walt
- We'll learn more about The Others (duh!)
- We'll see another chapter of Jack's marriage
- We'll learn more about what happens if the button isn't pressed
- We'll learn more about the electromagnet
Answers to Listener Questions
- Damon Lindelof addresses the date on a peach Kate was eating as a production error, not an indication of time travel
- Carlton Cuse confirms that the monster is evaluating people. He specifically talks about how it treats the pilot differently than Eko and Locke. He even addresses the monster treating Locke differently in one encounter than in another.

I'm not sure if this has been talked about, but I just listened to the official lost podcast and I have a theory about Jack's wife.
Do you remember that 2 second shot from 'Orientation' where as Jack and Locke etc are chasing after Desmond as he's leaving the hatch, Jack notices a picture of Desmond and some girl...
...could that girl be Sarah? Did Sarah leave Jack for Desmond?
Hmm. That would be interesting...

Wow, I Love The Idea Guys!.. Nice To Know What To Look Out For Before Hand. Defiantly A Big Help. Thanks A Bunch! Maybe I'll Talk Theories And Such Later. For One I Don't Believe Claire Is Interested In Locke, She Sees Him As Protection And A Father Figure.

I was rewatching "Tabula Rasa" a few days ago and was surprised to hear the guys on the official podcast talk about the "peaches." The fan who asked that question was wrong, however. First, it was not a jar of peaches, but several jars of pears. And they were labeled 2003: screencap here >> http://lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=19&pos=212. I don't think there was a production error at play here. Clearly, since this is just before Kate is captured and put on the plane, that this is a correct depiction of time. If the plane took off in Sept 2004, then I think it is safe to assume that those canned pears had been in the pantry awhile. Anyway, just to clear that dispute up...the guys got the wrong info in their podcast from that question. Look forward to next Saturday! But not to another week of not getting a new episode. grrr

Wow guys...thanks for the Three Amigos references! That cracked me up. In all seriousness, that is what's been missing from my life. And just so you know...my little buttercup has the sweetest smile. :-)
Now throw in some Back to the Future (which is my favorite movie of all time) references and my life will be complete!

Link isn't working now. Shorter clip of might be monster highly magnetic fluid on Monday's RocketBoom: http://www.rocketboom.com/vlog/archives/2006/01/rb_06_jan_23.html

That magenetic fluid is awesome! Doesn't look like the monster to me though. I still think it's magnetic powder. Maybe that's why Zeke is always dirty.

With regards to the peaches/ date, if the x-ray from 'The Hunting Party' is to be believed, the date says 2005. I think the producers keep the date of the crash ambiguous because they want the date to match up with the last episode. (I don't know this for sure, just a theory as to where/ why the dates are chosen)
I haven't listened to the official podcast yet, either, but how long do canned peaches keep anyway?
Emily, I'll check out the tv.com site for spoilers. I haven't looked there in awhile. Still getting back up to snuff after the long, cold winter of Lostless Wednesday nights.
I'm hoping Sarah left Jack for Desmond. Although if so, it didn't appear that Desmond remembered Jack in that context, during their all-too-unusual rendezvous.

I got this from imdb.com
The website http://www.oceanic-air.com and http://www.driveshaftband.com are websites run by ABC in order to promote the series. According to oceanic-air.com the Doomed flight crashed on September 22 2004.
http://www.oceanic-air.com shows the date that the flight left Sydney. If you click "Find" on the main page it will take you to a diagram of the plane. If you click on "Pre-Board check in" if will bring up the name Ethan Rom. If you unscramble the anagram it will show you a clip from Lost.
There are actually a bunch of easter eggs on this site. If you enter "the numbers" on the plane diagram page it will take you to a weird Lost site.

I take back my request to keep the podcast under 80 minutes. ;) Instead, how about we shoot for 120 so it makes sense to burn more than 1 CD?
I'm really not sure I buy into the idea yet of more than 1 group of Others. If there are really 3 different groups of people on the island, it would make sense for 2 of those groups (or more) to forge some kind of alliance. Maybe razors and clean/normal clothes are in short supply, and they were ONLY used on the first two infiltrators because of that?

I was reading up on spoilerfix/fuselage, and apparently we get a libby flashback this season. How exciting eh? I wonder if she has any ties with any of the lostaways...

Mediocre Episode So Far.. With 4 Minutes To Go...Yah. So I've Been Thinking, And There Are Theories Out There I Like. But I Was Thinking, Is The Island A Sort Of Rehab? For Locke A Physical Transformation, For Charlie And Many Others Physiologic. I Haven't Though This Completely Yet. But I Do Believe Many Things Are Explainable. Wow Bad Grammar Today! Anyways Though You Guys Might Want To Discuss This. Yet Again Great Podcast Can't Wait!

Two things I noticed...did anyone else see the Dharma logo on the cards? And I also noticed what I call the "Locke Short", from the end of episode three when the camera was behidn Locke's head, then did a 180 to his face.
I actually thought it was a pretty ok episode, we learned more about Liam and why he left. But man was this episode depressing. I think we've all been to that place where the whole world seems like their against you and you think they're going crazy. Or atleast I did. But I kept going "Charlie ahhh you idiot!"
I hope things get better for him. :)

Worst epoisode ever.

I have to say this episode was kinda boring. Didnt care to much to learn about charlies past since in a past episode they went back to his past and showed his brother already sobered up and family going well. Just have to say its time to speed up the show a little. Concentrate more on the island now. It kinda gets irritating when they do flash backs. Ok that was my two cents worth tonite.

ok, the key on Jack's neck...2 ideas
1) He has some guns (or something) stashed in there...and he knows no one else can get at them
2) Jack = Key...Locke = Lock ? Dunno but Locke looked like a real SOB on this episode. I think Locke is involved in the Dharma Init. more than we know...maybe they promised him he could walk again if he got to the island?
Also, Jack is a spinal surgeon and Locke has (had) some sort of spinal injury that prevented his walking. Look for conflict!
Great podcasts, guys!

yeah what is up with Locke? And Libby?? Both had strange moments in last nights episode. Locke, obviously, went from a kind understanding person who approached Charlie's drug problem in a very good way, to punchy-pants whos stealing Charlie's drugs and once again changing the safe combination.
When Charlie was ranting to Claire about baptism the first time they had a shot of Locke from farther back on the beach...man, it made Locke seem like he knew something. Starting to think Locke is working on a different agenda then everyone else.
As for Libby, the whole laundry scene seemed forced on Libbys end...making me think that she was pursuing Hurley. I wonder what her agenda is.

By my calculations, the lost-aways have been on the island for roughly 60 days and they left Austrailia at the end of September. So for them, it is nearly Thamnksgiving and then you know Christmas is around the corner. I think a very special Christmas Episode where Jack's heart grew three sizes would be great for May Sweeps.
Will we be seeing any Holiday episodes?

This is info. from the 23rd psalm, but I thought some of you may be interested.
A few people from the Fuselage have translated what they heard (whispers?)from the smoke monster when it's right infront of Eko.
Combined Transcripts BY
'Penyours' & 'RVTurnage'
FROM THE FUSELAGE
(Smoke Monster facing off with Mr. Eko)
Who are you and why are you here?

He’s trying here
Nothing yet
Now try him from here, okay
Those are the roles (or rules) you accept
Go to hell
