Just because we're taking a break from podcasting this week, it doesn't mean we aren't constantly thinking about LOST. Here's some fun LOST links from around the web.
Jason sends us an email about a great video from VH1's "Best Week Ever", with Pete Holmes ranting about LOST:
Check out this Monday Night Football commercial featuring some LOST cast members, including Hurley, Claire, Shannon, Jin and Sun:

Good grief, that Pete Holmes guy is a complete prat isn't he? There's plenty of ways to critise the show properly, but pulling stupid faces and shouting out his child like observations isn't one of them...
Honestly, are these the sort of prannocks you have to put up with on AMerican TV?

Haha oh come on, hes a comedian, on a comedic show, and you have to admit its at least a little bit funny. I dont think this ever made the actual show though.
I enjoy it thoroughly.
Posted by: jason | April 22, 2006 at 10:42 PM
That dude was about as funny as chewing broken glass.
Posted by: The Andrew | April 22, 2006 at 11:08 PM
Why did they have to kill off Shannon? Yeah she was annoying, but shes so goddam hot
Posted by: Nathan | April 22, 2006 at 11:31 PM
Not to try and look too much into a MNF commercial, but when's it from? I'm assuming it's from last season (of football), hence Shannon's presence, but if its a commercial for next season on ESPN... then what the heck is Shannon doing there?
And WeakLemon, yeah that guy was a moron. The concept of "Best Week Ever" is actually a ripoff from "I Love the 80s" which I understand we ripped of from you all across the Pond--amusing people say amusing things in response to the week or the 80s or whatever. His little rant wasn't good enough to make the show, so they've thrown it online. And his relating being addicted to Lost as being in a physically abusive relationship? Dude, try relating it to PUSHING THE BUTTON; that's what the rest of us Lost nerds do!

If I got on that plane I would bring my satellite phone but still get on because I hate it when I get on a plane and think its going to crash and then it doesnt and I miss the flight.
Posted by: rubycalaber | April 23, 2006 at 12:53 AM
That was terrible. :(
Posted by: Lostaway | April 23, 2006 at 10:08 AM
Wow that was cool, lets all take a chill pill and realise that everyone is entilted to there own opinon.
On a plus point check out how short Shannon's skirt is!!
Sorry for bad spelling, stay Lost. The end is in sight.
Posted by: Gavin | April 23, 2006 at 11:49 AM
Matt,
I'm affraid you're correct, we did start all that risible "I HEART The 80s" nonsense. In a way, I can now see what sort of person that guy is: he's the equivalent of the no-body comedians we get on or talking head shows (such as Justin Lee-Collins, Iain Lee and many others).
Gavin,
I realise everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I really don't think that comedian really believed most of the stuff he was saying. It was all said for comic effect so he can trot out the same old tired clichés about the show and seem insightful, when really he was just being a tiresome moron.
In my opinion, anyway. Far be it from me to start judging people, but that's the impression I get from him. There's plenty of his sort on TV in the UK, too, they just don't shout or gurn as much as him.
Posted by: WeakLemonDrink | April 23, 2006 at 01:19 PM
Yeah, shame on those tiresome morons complaining about such an intelligent show and... WOW, Gavin, you're right, Shannon's skirt is super short!
Posted by: Matt Lafferty | April 23, 2006 at 10:15 PM
there was one funny thing about this. In the monday night football one, look at Sun on the right side at the very end. She does this little dance thingy with her fists that looks HISTERICLE!!!!!
Also sorry for bad spelling
Sam

Chill out freaks he's messing around, can you not take a joke? you can't deny there has been some frustratingly slow episodes, as a huge fan of lost i can see where he is coming from, thats right i love the show and ive seen all the episodes like 5 times each(bit of a freak myself). Have an open mind..FREAKS! Im nut sorry bout da speeelling
Posted by: G.O.D | April 24, 2006 at 12:28 AM
G.O.D, It wasn't his opinions I was attacking, it was the God awful comedic shouting and gurning I was having a go at. He was talking like he was addressing children with only a rudimentary sense of what's funny. And, to be fair, his observations are the same old crap LOST has had since day 1. Hardly original.
Posted by: WeakLemonDrink | April 24, 2006 at 01:11 AM
I dont think the best week ever guy was even joking, it sounded to me that he was just an annoyed fan wanting more action... but in all fareness, if you arent like US who watch the episodes 2 and 3 times looking for secrets, clues, and hidden meanings, this season probly has been a bit slower usuall. BUT because LOST is my favorite show even when its slow I hate him and will never ever be his friend cause he is a stoopid poop face.
Posted by: smokem | April 24, 2006 at 04:40 AM
heh...people make me laugh... its really not worth getting all worked up...really.
Posted by: korrinn | April 24, 2006 at 12:15 PM
yes i agree with korrinn and god. its just meant to be funny...if you don't find it funny so what, you don't have to start attacking the guy personally.

Hey this is probably been mentioned so many times before but have you guys looked at the Oceanic Airlines site? Red dots have been appearing on it more and more over the last few weeks. Probably nothing just thought I would mention it.
Posted by: Gary | April 24, 2006 at 05:08 PM
YEAH That guy was really annoyin... annoy... WOW look at how short Shannon's skirt was!!!

A little definition for the overseas audience:
VH1 - Network where D-list celebrities and hack comedians go to die.
Although, "Flavor of Love," is almost as compelling as LOST.
The guy had a good premise, but his delivery made me want to jam knitting needles into my ears.
Posted by: Matt Jones | April 25, 2006 at 12:26 PM
In the UK VH1 is a semi-respectable music network. As far as I know, it's pretty light on the programming and just gives us music! Sounds like you have the short end of the stick.
Posted by: WeakLemonDrink | April 25, 2006 at 03:10 PM
No, in all seriousness, despite what he was saying, it was absolutely terrible as far as comedy goes.
I mean, I love Best Week Ever, and I love the commentary even if its politically incorrect or I completely disagree with it, but I enjoy it because its FUNNY, and that was one thing that that video severely lacked.

I think that Libby is really in love with Kate, and is using Hurley to get at her. Locke really has hair, but is wearing a skin head wig that he bought from the back of Walt's comic book. Walt is really the man, and Not Henry is really Sonny Bono, who didn't really die on that tree, but created this whole island to escape from the grief he faced on earth all the time. Where do these people take dumps anyway? And what do they wipe with? I'm thinking that those boulders that Bernard used weren't really boulders, but hardened fecal matter that they are saving up to make one bif mega bomb for the the show's finale one day. Hurley might eat some of those feces if he gets back on one of his binges. It smells like sharp cheese, so the taste probably isn't much difference. It might have an odd consistency though. There could be some dung that is crunchy (dried), some that is soft and moist to taste (fresh) and some that is like rock candy (really dried, almost petrified). It could also be used as a facial masque. I bet that is how Kate and Claire keep their skin so smooth. But I really want to know what others think they use to wipe their asses? Comments? They would have to be very careful using island leaves because they could be poisonous and give them a horrible (even deadly) anal bleeding rash.......Maybe they don't wipe at all. That makes more sense, as the dried up dung left over would make crunchy cereal (almost like a Grape Nuts kinda thing). Oh well, I'd be interested in what others theories about this are. I am surprised this has not been discussed on the Podcast. This country has too much of a stigma in talking about fecal-related matters. Open up and be real! Stop censoring the Podcast and talk about everything. God Bless.

Will you guys be podcasting this weekend?
There's a hell of a load of things to talk about.
The leaked cast sheet
Desmonds supposed return in the finale
The map of course
Posted by: Nathan | April 26, 2006 at 12:54 PM
C'mon dude at least mark for spoilers with that desmond mention.. >_<
Posted by: David | April 26, 2006 at 01:36 PM
Moving away from massive spoilers for a moment ;) ...
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before (or whether this is the right place to say it) but I know you'd like some suggestions for this site.
The main one I would say is to make the width scaleable! With everything in this little column it gets really hard to follow long pages (in fact, all pages end up being long on this site).
Also, a more noticiable 'break' between comments would be massively helpful.
Other than that, I think you should keep the lovely simple feel you have here.

Haahahhaha that guy was funny! I didn't agree with some of the stuff he said.. but the part about the theatrical glue is true.. hehhee

That's BRILLIANT!
Posted by: WeakLemonDrink | May 02, 2006 at 12:20 PM
that "comedian" hurt my eyes and ears.
I can seewhat hes getting at.But no.I lost whatever point he was trying to get across amongst all the noise and stupidness he was creating, literally cringeworthy to watch.
And the football one when black guy with tickets asks "so whats in the hatch" they should have replied "Porn, the hatch is filled from wall to wall with videos of hardcore porn from the late 70's to the late 90's" then black dude should have said
"LOL pr0n is teh own!".
