Thanks a million guys! I know I speak for all when I say that we really appreciate the effort you put in to these podcasts.

#42! Way to go!

LT

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

jamie mollart

Nice one! We've just had the trailer for season 3 part 2 shown on sky one here in the uk. It starts on feb 11th, so we're catching you guys up.

Enigmajelly

The sharks riding motorcycles cartoon from the mid '90s was called "street sharks" and its catch phrase was "Jawesome!!"

Cihan

Good way to structure the podcast, dont have much to say at the moment but nice shoutout for Children of Men. By far one of the most stunning dystopia-themed films ever, great steadicam one-take shots that have to be seen to be believed.

I_Love_Sayid....and_Lostcasts

hey, great, thanks

Justin (AKA Locke Junior)

well you didn't play my crazy voicemail, and it's a good thing if you want to keep your listeners! A nice wholesome podcast!

Ben

Dharma Shark and the underwater hatch.. that's the hydra station that we've seen in the first 6 episodes. Jack even comments that his cell was for sharks...

Tahir

Am listening to the new podcast right now.

Thanks guys.

LOSTnlovinit

Hey guys! SOO glad you're back, hope you had a great break and are enjoying your weather down south, haha!

I just wanted to comment on a couple of the Loose Ends...
First, whoever wrote the list mentioned that The Black Rock couldn't have "just" landed where it currently resides. HOWEVER, yes, it could. I say this because in the time that has passed since the ships sailing days to the show's present day, the earth and oceans have changed. For example, my school is on a river where a major trade port used to be located back in the 1600's. Where the port was (ocean deep enough for those kinds of ships) there now stand a boat house, a dorm, and two of the largest buildings on campus. It is more than possible that the ship could have ended up in the middle of the island because it used to be ocean deep enough for such a ship. This could also fit with the four-toed statue being from the city of Atlantis if it was at one point underwater but has now come to surface.

My birthday is Feb. 6 and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present than for LOST to start again! I really really look forward to your podcasts every week, probably as much as I look forward to the show! Thanks and keep up the great work! :)

Stay LOST!

Brian

You guys (and Tasha) mentioned that there is going to be a recap episode before the airing of Not In Portland.

This recap is to be aired at 9-10pm on feb 7th followed by the premiere of Not In Portland at 10-11pm.

Lucidlife

I have to comment on the spoilerguy's production value; 'WTF is he saying?' After 3 listens I realized he's just reading spoilerfix verbatim. "garble, garble, Sawyer, garble, no pun intended, garble, well folks that's it!"

Enunciate, enunciate! Speak into the mic!

:)

Matt Jones

Thanks Vaibhav,

It kills me that I didn't remember who he was. I recently read a biography of Ben Franklin where Burke figured prominently.

frankmorris

This is not as sophisticated as a great American thinker, but I can confirm that it was the Romulan 'Birds of Prey' that had the cloaking device.

btw, snow in Dallas Texas?
Al Gore must be full of shit

Doug Leach

I know everyone wants Paulo dead, but I just found out that he is playing Xerxes in the upcoming movie 300. It should be interesting to see.

LOSTnlovinit

Sorry, forgot one thing! About Libby... I think it's very possible that she wasn't lying about her occupation, she could have been institutionalized for an episode of depression, but have been fine the rest of her life. My personal speculation is that she was lying, perhaps she's schizophrenic and she actually believes that she's a psychologist? Just trying to throw the possibilities out there!

@frankmorris: Global Warming doesn't mean higher temperatures across the board, it means more extreme weather (higher highs, lower lows, etc.) So even though you do have to take what that man says with a grain of salt, he's not wrong about this one! :)

Joop

Thanks guys, you reminded me of someone I want to see killed more than Paulo.....Picket aka Buck who likes to f--k.
It probably wont be as wonderful as when Uma Thurman did it, but w/ the 10:00 pm time slot, there's always hope.

@ frankmorris & Lostnlovinit

One prediction of global warmists I can refute is that polar bears are becoming extinct.
We all know that they can live quite comfortably in a warm, tropical climate. :)

Which reminds me of a joke:

A baby polar bear asks his mom, 'momma, am I really a polar bear?'
& his mom says, 'yes son, of course you're a polar bear. Why do you ask?'
& the baby bear says, 'because I'm freezing my balls off'

*uncomfortable silence*

Nash

@LOSTnlovinit,

I'd prefer to keep politics out of Lostcasts, but read Crichton's "State of Fear". Numerous studies show no increase in extreme weather events over the past century or in the last 15 years. Media reality is far different from scientific reality. And please explain how "Global Warming" does not mean higher temperatures across the globe?

Megan

Great podcast, as usual.

I just want to comment on Nikki and Paulo and when they all went to the Pearl. Nikki said "what about all the other tvs" and yeah. I thought that was totally redundant. When Locke and Eko were there in season 2, they did mention all the other tvs, and they turned them on, but none were hooked up except the one connected to the swan. In order to see the other feed they needed Sayid to patch through the feed. maybe the other 5 tvs don't work, so they had to patch that feed into the one tv that did work. So Locke's comment about "why didn't i think of that" isn't true. he did, he tried all the tvs in season 2, but none of them worked.

so anway. Nikki and Paulo annoy me, but I'll put up with them until we know more about them.

that's my 2 cents.

frankmorris

@ Nash

I don't want to say that Al Gore's movie was political but, in one very dramatic scene, a glacier melts and they find more Al Gore ballots from the 2000 election.

Sobaika

Thanks for the podcast! Random thoughts:

- Charlie and Kate need to die. Soon.
- I believe the sickness could be real. Danielle's a bit nutty, but its not like anywone told her about the sickness. It was something she saw on her own, and then further alluded to by character like Kelvin.
- Nikki and Paulo haven't given me a reason to like them or hate them. They need to provide one ASAP.
- Michael, Walt, Penny, and Libby's stories need to be addressed. S2 is pretty much pointless if those stories are forgotten.
- What happened to Kate after she had her seaside date with Ben? Was she just scared or something more?
- I love Lost and understand that not all mysteries can be explained immediately, but the Loose Ends brought out a lot that hadn't been addressed in a while. Aaron all of a sudden means nothing to the Others, we haven't been to the Black Rock since S1, Jack's dad's missing body, haven't heard the whispers since after Shannon died... I will continue to watch of course, and have faith in the writers' ability to tie things up, but they need to get cracking.
- You guys talk about what you call the "Big Three." I agree but would switch Sawyer with Sayid. I've always seen Jack as man of science, Locke as man of faith, and Sayid as man of reason, simply because it has been referenced in the show before. In the big showdown between ideologies earlier last year when Locke forces Jack to push the button, Sayid interjects that who pushes the button is irrelavent as long as it gets pushed and moves in for the button. In a deleted scene from the S2 DVD their is a notable conversation where Sayid says that Benry knows Lock, Jack, and himself and knows none of them can agree. He kinda went MIA after Shannon's death, but is the only one with half a brain on the island and definetely someone I see as one of the true leaders on the island.

Justin

I grew up in Dallas, it has snowed there before. In the 80s it seemed to happen at least once a year. After that, it became more erratic. Usually it was ice rather than snow.

Justin

@sobaika

the whispers were heard in the season 2 finale, just before the others took J/K/S and H.

Sobaika

Haha sorry about that, thanks Justin. But still, they have been appearing a lot less often and seem to not play into the mythology as much any more. I know that everything can't get tackled at once, but a lot have been hanging around since the first season.

OPPinoy

I'm not sure if anyone has commented about the possible end date being sent, but wouldn't it be fitting if episode #108 was the final episode?

Great podcast (as always) ... Just some thoughts ...

Star Trek References - The cloaking device was a Romulan technology in the original series, but as of STIII, the Klingons had also acquired the technology ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek_cloaking_device

Also, it is Romulan Ale, not Romulan Wine ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romulan_Ale

Nikki & Paulo - I think alot of the animosity towards N&P are because they were never properly introduced into the show, and so it seems as if they have been shoe-horned into the storyline ... Arzt was imho simply a "redshirt" in S1, so the audience never questioned his intro. Also, Arzt was introduced early enough in S1 when new characters were easier to "bring into the fold" ... S2 was the intro of the tailies, whose backstory was given in the episode "The Other 48 Days" ... There was never any backstory given to N&P, and thus the animosity.

The Numbers & 6 Degrees - I think these aspects of the show have been explained as much as possible. They are not loose ends, but more like thematic devices for the show ... The Numbers are similar to the Doomsday Clock in the background of the graphic novel The Watchmen. They are there to reinforce an idea/theme of the show ... The 6 Degrees of Separation aspect is a direct nod to Charles Dickens (see Oliver Twist, Tale of Two Cities, or Great Expectations).

Desmond - After hearing your spoilers, I am now convinced Desmond = Dr. Manhattan ... I think the manner in which he is able to "see" the future will be explained to be very similar to Dr. Manhattan (read The Watchmen).

So glad you guys are back and I have something to listen to for my morning commute ... Stay LOST!

I_Love_Sayid...&_Lostcasts

@ Sobaika

I appreciate your support and inclusion of Sayid as symbolizing a major character typology. I agree that he has stood in as symbolizing the voice of reason which is fundamentally separate from that of science and faith.

My Bitchfest: It's been irritating me that such an important a character as Sayid has been set up to be in S1, fell behind half way through S2 and now appears to be reduced to a tertiary character in the S3 mini. And honestly, where was the voice of reason when he put Sun & Jin in danger and went comando in fothersville, I'd like to know? He's hot headed but not stupid. I didn't buy that one bit.

Anyway, don't get me wrong, I love Sawyer as well and instead of a triscalion of ideology, how about a top 4:
the man of science, the man of faith, the man of reason, and the man of instinct. Even Gilligan's Island had 4 male character types. lol

Jon W

Nice Podcast again guys, I enjoyed the run through of the top 50 loose ends. And the spoilers were great, I hadnt read into much of the new episodes but I cant wait for the rest of Season 3.

@ I Love Sayid, I think since the death of Shannon in early S2 really slowed the development of the character down, and since his last flashback was in 'One of them' (epi 14 of S2) and is not expected to return in flashbacks until episode 8 or 9 in Season 3. And you compare that with other member's of the former 'A-Team' or 'Loop'. Hopefully Sayid is not on the way out.

Jon

LOSTnlovinit

About Danielle and the sickness... has it been speculated that perhaps she's the one who is sick and that's why she killed her fellow crew and not the other way around? She does seem a bit crazy. Ok, ya I don't think so either but why won't she even tell them what to look for? Does it bother anyone else that no one asks her any questions!? Sure, Sayid tried asking, oh I don't know... maybe two questions?

@Nash: Haha, good point. Sorry, I meant to say it doesn't ONLY mean rising temperatures across the globe, not that it means no rising global temperatures at all. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll definitely have to check them out!

frankmorris

@ Sobaika, I Love Sayid

At first glance science & reason seem to be the same thing,

When you consider science as a systemized knowledge based on facts & you will not accept anything outside your carefully constructed 'beliefs', then the man of science can be just as stubborn & dogmatic as the man of faith (Jack vs. Locke).

When you consider reason as sound judgment or good sense, the man of reason will make decisions unencumbered by any preconceptions (Sayid) who has always seemed the best strategist of the bunch (He got a bad rap for the beach maneuvere).

In this sense, Sayid makes the top three

However...

I like Sawyer for reasons discussed in the podcast which mostly dealt w/ motivations. I have to say that Jacks conflicts w/ Sawyer (hero vs. antihero) were just just as compelling as his conflicts w/ Locke.

I dont know...

I do think it's interesting that in the 'Watership Down' podcast, Jack was compared to Hazel, Locke to Fiver & Bigwig was a combination of both Sawyer & Sayid.

John

Holy shit, I check back a week later and there's a new podcast. You said it would only be delayed by a week, and sure enough, that was all. Fucking unbelievable. Amazing how happy you can make your listeners when you come thru on a promise. Hopefully you turds don't disappoint me and the show doesn't suck. If Matt stopped being a retard, then I'm sure it won't.

Meanwhile, Jon W and Mark B. still keep on blabbing away and boring the shit out of everyone but themselves. Keep up the good work, you geniuses.

Cheers. (something only a filthy englishman would say)
-John

Chigg

Even further clarification:

"It has been speculated that the Klingon Empire acquired cloaking technology during an alliance with the Romulans. Such an alliance was loosely implied by Romulan use of Klingon ships in "The Enterprise Incident" (TOS) and later mentioned as having taken place at some point in the past in "Reunion" (TNG) and "The Neutral Zone" (TNG) but there is no canon evidence to support the idea of Romulans supplying Klingons with cloaking technology."

From http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Cloaking_device

So truly... the Klingons might have developed it themselves. It's up in the air. And yes, I am a nerd.

MHarp

Glad you guys are back. Interesting show. My only comment is I wish your guest could have contributed more. I don't remember her getting much more in than she likes Charlie and a few laughs.

My week just 'aint the same without the show. Things are starting to feel "normal" again.

Thanks

John

That guest host SUCKED. She laughed like a hyena and sounded easy. Maybe Matt actually discovered sex this past weekend...but i still doubt it.

Jon W

Just backing up what MHarp said, I was a little disappointed with the lack of input from Tasha, I dont know if you guys just didnt give her enough time or maybe she was a little reluctant, Im sure she has a lot to offer the show other than providing some real studio audience style laughter for your jokes ;-)

@ frankmorris. Just to back up what you said there. I found an interesting quote from a Lost forum (not one of the big forums) This possibly links in and backs up to what you were saying. See what you think.

'Science is a universal resource by which to base facts. Reason is a universal resource by which to form opinion, this usually based on motivations and feelings. Jack's reason will be different from Locke's and Sawyer's reason based on the emotions a certain situation brings'

Jon

Jon W

Sorry for the double post but I forgot to put this link in my last one. This may have already been brought up in other comment sections but while browsing Lostpeida I came accross this section check it out, quite amusing on Lostpedia's part

http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Jackface

frankmorris

@ Jon W

I like it.

I've read somewhere, some poet I think, that reason is like the rudder of your sea faring soul. Who you are, motivations, desires etc. will determine what course you take.

I think the hero/ anti hero thing is interesting because it's not black & white. We know Sawyer can be unselfish & Jack is not your typical hero (see Jack faces). His stepping up as leader could be seen as selfish if he is just compensating for mistakes in his past.

Jon W

Yeah I agree we have seen many people be heroes in different ways. And your spot on with the Jack/Hero stuff and I think the same can be said of all of the hero figures we have seen on the Island, It will be interesting to see how Locke plays team captain in the longer run with the growing absence of Jack, and how Locke deals with Sayid as a side-kick, or vice versa

Jon

****** SPOILER IF YOU'VE NOT SEEN THE LOST MOMENTS *****

Just listened to the podcast and was thinking who other than Claire could be Jacks sister. What about Cindy ?

***** END SPOLIER ******

BTW : The Children of Men is based on a book by P. D. James. I've not seen the film but from the previews and what you said it seems like it's one of those films that have take an idea from a book and that's it.

John

Jon W is a big fat weenie.

musepsycho

I´m not going to go into the whole climate change (which is a better description than global warming), but I want to recommend a great podcast that has this as a main subject this week. It´s called "The naked scientists" & is great for inquisitive minds. You can find it on iTunes or here:

http://thenakedscientists.com/

Thanks to Lostcast! You´re great as always.

riiverfr0zen

lol ... they need to invent a new category in the emmys just for 'actor who can f'in emote most!'. foxy rules!

c'mon guys, obviously tasha was just there to chill and put in a few words. anyone with any social sense would have recognized that. it was nice to have her there. i don't see why everyone has all these 'imperatives'.

Hefty Garbage Bags

sorry to say but this show is over. reading the interviews with these producers on why the characters are so stupid seals the deal on how the show is just a tow along until its no longer profitable for disney and then their "plan to wrap it up."

the rest is just comic-book filler of cheap love triangles that star trek geeks and fat women get into... or characters who are destroyed when they drink and drive or find more lucrative contracts. (see you later Tailies and the new Brazilian dude.)

take it from your texan pals Pantera,
"the TREND IS DEAD...
its on sale at the fucking dollar store."

Waiting for LOST

I was watching season 3 again last night, can't remember if it was episode 2 or 3 but it's the scene when Juilet throws the water bottle to Sawyer. Just before that, the first time he sees her, he looks like he knows her from somewhere but can't place her. Either that or he's thinking what's a woman like you doing in a place like this. She is a bit of a stand out from the crowd.

Are we about to get yet another connection ?

POSSILE SPOILER : I guess everyone knows the next episode is Juliet-centric and it's set in Miami where I think Sawyer was at some point -- he was in Tampa. Certainly Kate was in the Miami area.

Mark B

Loose End #51: Karl.

Who is he ? Is he a renagade Ben-Other ? Is the an other Other ? Or is he a 'regular' person ? How did he get to the island ? Was he on flight 815 ? Did he crash there in some other incident ? Was he on Henry Gales balloon ? Why was he in a cage ? Was his escape attempt for real ? Where is he now ?

Mark B

Matt J

I think Tasha was overwhelmed by our unchecked geekieness. Robert tried to prepare her, but no one can truly be prepared. Seriously, you should have seen the look on her face during the cloaking device debate. She was great though. I hope she joins us again.

Ted

I just took a huge dump and it came out like soft serve ice cream. It was so sticky that it took 14 wipes...and the last two I had to wet down beforehand so I wouldn'nt be leaving some unfriendly streaks in my drawers.

A little advice: DO NOT try the fresh Archer Farm's pizza at Super Target (pappa murphy's style, fresh made, you just pop it in the oven to bake it yourself). Mine was cheese and italian sausage for those of you keeping score at home. Eeew, that was sticky and stinky. DOUBLE-THREAT!

Big Time Geek

Didn't you have another female guest last season ? What happened to her ? As I recall she made some sensible comments.

Could both her and Tasha get on the team for the next cast ? Or is the woman from last season now an ex-friend ?

What did Tasha expect exactly ? Surely she listened to a couple of 'casts before agreeing to join in ? I mean come on four blokes doing a podcast about a tv show .... that said which is worse the geek that makes a podcast or the geek that comments about it.

Wow that was funny! A must watch

alex

that's the most screen time sayid's had all season! HAHA.

Brian

After picking up the DVD's over the holidays, I've been rewatching the early episodes and found something pretty interesting about all the questions about Jack's dad's body. In a flashback to the airport, Jack was trying to convince the clerk to allow the body on the plane. We never see the end of that conversation and assume the coffin contained the body on the plane. What if the airline wouldn't relent and refused to allow the body on the plane? After Jack's speech about needed to finish with the funeral immediately, I wouldn't put it beyond him to leave the body until the paperwork cleared and planned to have a funeral with an empty casket. I'm just wondering if we ever got confirmation Jack was able to get the body on the plane.

Nimrod

@ Mark B

Cuse and Lindelof have already revealed that Karl's escape attempt was a genuine one and that he really is an other. Still, it's going to be interesting to se who he is and why he wants to leave.

As always you guys are the best.. and though some say femail voice is needed.. the feel of your post casts is great with just the "guys" point of veiw..
the list of lost loose ends is good.. really makes you stop and think, but dont beat me with the jesus stick, but why did ms clue say "we can't" when michael said for them to go get henry! seems it was ok for him to wander around the island, along with ethan and goodwin, along with the "you have 3 mintues" to see walt - is there a wieght limit for the island? or does it take that long to for the defense system to notice a difference in something! and set off the alarm.. just some thoughts.. but wanted to say thank you for taking the time and effort to make my ride to work wonderful!! you guys rock.. .

Lost Moment 11 is on YouTube!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAo9yBOqJsE

Haha, that's excellent!

Jon W

That is a good Lost moment, Its a shame they are not doing a simillar thing in the UK. The only previews we get are adverts that give away massive parts of the storyline, I may have mentioned before the airing of 'The Cost of Living' one of the promos clearly showed Eko confronting the Smoke Monster and seeing it basically beat him up. I wish the Sky One exects had more of an advertising brain. From what Ive seen with 'Lost...Uncovered' along with a few other programs...they suck. Moan over..

Jon

Joni

IMO, I started listening to the podcast when it was just the guys and I loved it. I never felt the need for a female perspective. I enjoy the show just how it is.

As far as Lost goes, I have hated all the negative stuff going around about how Lost is losing its edge and so on. I can see where those thoughts are coming from.

We spent two seasons following this group of people from plane crash to discovering the islands secrets and learning about their lives before the crash.

I was excited for Season 3. I wanted to see what happened to J/K/S as captives. I wanted to see how Hurley dealt with the aftermath of Libby's death and learning that it was by Michael's hand. I wanted to see Desmond mesh with the Losties. I wanted to see Charlie & Claire get closer. I wanted to see Rousseau make an appearance now that the Others have struck. I wanted to see Sayid & Locke join forces and get J/K/S back. I really wanted to see Penny & the watch station again.

I guess we have the rest of the Season to see some of those things. I just hope they dig back into Hurley, Sayid, Locke, so on. I miss them.

Loose end #52:

What does sun baked 30 year old beer taste like? :P

paula

HI guys - a fairly new listener... thanks for your efforts, you are great. I was listening to the podcast for the last show "I Do" and I could not help but want to mention a point thatI don't think anyone has seemed to yet mention. There is a lot of bad talk about Kate's flashback being useless etc.

However, if I may suggest the following: Kevin (Kate's hubby) is a police officer who mentions right before he is drugged by his wife that he is completeing paperwork for a case involving a fugitive in Tampa. We know that Sawyer was in Tampa on a "job" and was jailed there too - I think. Kate reveals to hubby that she is also a fugitive.

Do you think her hubby is just going to wake up and say ... "Oh, well, glad you left..." I think we have not seen the last of him. Just like Desmond has Penelope searching for him on the outside. I think Kevin is searching for Kate from the outside. This would have significant implications for our losties. And so between Penelope and Kevin - there are at least two people with excellent resources (cash, influence and the law) out there searching for our friends.

So all this to say that Kate's flashback has had the benefit of setting this up for us. Can't wait for the show to return.

OPPinoy

Bekka

Well, I wanted to say thanks to all that read my last comment about spoilers. I noticed that alot of people were prefacing their comments so that I (and others like me) could avoid reading them. So, here's a huge THANKS from me.

Secondly, I really enjoyed the last podcast, I liked the theme of going of the loose ends, just one thing struck me though....The Others interest in Aaron.... Who said the others were ever interested in Aaron? Danielle stole Aaron because she thought the others were coming for "a child" and wanted to trade for Alex, but then it turns out that the child that The Others were after was Walt, so Danielle is S.O.L. I thought that we as the audience and the characters assumed that the child was Aaron, but when they came for Walt it turned out we were mistaken. Just a thought!

And thanks again for the ***SPOILER WARNINGS****!

Justin (AKA Locke Junior)

@Bekka

forget the spoilers - any Lost fan is hungry for any new content - you can NEVER be 100% spoiler free - especially if you're watching it legally - ABC/SKY.

And I'm not going to put any spoiler warnings in next time (and nor should anyone else) - it's your fault for looking at this comments section - go to the Fuselage for a safe board!

alex

@Bekka-

well yeah, except that in the episode "maternity leave" we see claire flashback to incidents in the medical hatch that indicate the others want aaron, including alex telling claire that they will take the baby and then kill her. maybe this is a lie and something else entirely was going to transpire, but it does seem fairly apparent that ethan kidnapped claire because she was pregnant with aaron. what for? who knows. maybe after claire's escape the tests revealed that aaron was not the child they were looking for (read: no "special" powers) and they set off on a mission for walt instead. or maybe they got what they needed from claire and aaron. one thing is for sure: i really hope this is all explained by end of the series.

riiverfr0zen

Hi everyone,

Its from the new Lost moment 11 you might have missed it?

Post your thoughts

@Justin and Jon W.
All I'm asking is that I not read items from Spoilerfix and the like on this comment section. My original point was that I hope we get a forum soon so that it can be organized to keep spoilers in there place. I read the comments section here because I enjoy the podcast, and enjoy hearing what other people have to say about the podcasts and the episodes. I'm just asking that like the guys do in the podcast, we seperate spoilers from the general content.

@Alex
I guess I wasn't thinking far back enough. Good point about Maternity Leave. I have no idea except that they probably wanted Aaron for the same reason they took the kids from the Tailies side...maybe we should look to the possibility that Aaron will be in danger again in the future?

I see your point, and a forum is, in my view the only way to keep every happy. However, are we in danger of ruining LOSTCast's purpose. 'We read the forums so you dont have to' Isant the point of the podcast to sum up general news and views from the Fusealage, The numbers forum etc

@ Paula

Interesting...anything to justify the flashback in 'I Do'.

@ Bekka & Jon W

I like spoilers but try to respect those who don't.
I'm all for a forum...anything to weed out the a-holes.

@ Paula
Slight SPOILER WARNING not only could Kate husband somehow interact with Sawyer but with 'Not in Portland' being set in Miami could he, Kate and/or Sawyer interact with Juliet. WaitingforLOST made some connection suggestion a while ago on this thread so it's not like it's all my idea.

@ SPOILER people
Staying SPOILER free is almost impossible with the LOST moments and podcasts etc. I agree aboard is the way to go but nothing as complicated as the Fuselage something simple like to categories per episode; General Discusion and Spoiler Discussion.

Yeah I pretty much agree with all you had to say, something simple and not a full blown forum is what is needed

I'm really into Ugly Betty - it's the perfect thing to watch in a Lost hiatus. And if you folks like Goodwin, Mr Widmore and Maggie (Extras) then you're in for a treat. Only a few more days now!

@Bekka - Lostcasts need around 5 dedicated subject boards, but when Lost starts, I know folks will stop spoiling themselves and each other! - it's ABC who are the spoilers, this is way more than Season 2 promos!

@Hotter than hell

It must be all those HD TV's with silent and deadly poisons they're excreting. I think we are using more electric (to download and to watch Lost), and more time listening to podcasts (like this one) which use even more juice - it's becoming an electric savvy world - back in the 80s you never had any of this. People even went outside for gosh sakes!

That may be one of those big boom mics reflected in the wind shield.

That reminds me of 3 things you'll never hear a women say:

- What do you mean it's our anniversary?
- Don't stop for directions, I'm sure you'll find it.
- Pull my finger.

Most of the "Spoiler" stuff just seems like speculation to me... nothing spoilery in that...

A new Official LOST vidcast is out. Notseen it yet but it's on itunes and I guess abc.com.

Some good new ones, spoil away

I suppose the real question is what is a SPOILER ?

Clerarly spoilerfix.com and alike are spoilers. But does the post-episode trailer for next week count ? Does things said in the official podcast or an interview count ? Do any commercials during the week count ? Do unofficial interviews count ? Are the LOST moments spoilers ?

If you are on the Fuselage then the answer is yes to all.

Here it seems that there is a grey line between spoiler and infomation. To me a spoiler is something TPTB did not set out for me to see.

Great to hear from you guys again. What a long wait! Finally, we will get some LOST. It is like waiting for Christmas to arrive.

Matt Jones

Spoiler = Something that reveals a major plot point before an episode has aired.

Teaser = Something that hints at a possible plot point, but is still open to speculation.

Spoiler = Leaks from cast, crew or anyone lucky enough to see an episode before the general viewing audience.

Teaser = Anything shown in a "next week on LOST," promo, webisode or official LOST online content.

IMOP this is a reasonable distinction between what deserves a SPOILER ALERT heading and what doesn't.

As for forums, I agree with Mark B. We read the forums so you don't have to. This was board was originally intended to be for comments related to the podcast. If you guys want to talk theories that's great, but there are plenty of places on the net for threaded discussions. This is where you tell us how bad our jokes suck or how off our theories are.

@ Matt

Sounds strangley famillier to something I said but I'll let you off the hook. And for Mark B I think that is a clear enough definition as far as spoilers are concerned

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Matt Jones that video was really funny and i bet its not far from how they come with the ideas for Lost

Nice Lost Moments. First one (#12) is pretty spoilerish but I guess we've seen enough already to know what happens.

In number 13 -- who is that with Jack ? Speculation ...

I'm very glad you guys are back. I love listening to your podcast while I'm at work/in the car. For the most part I liked #42; however, I am just a little bummed that you gave so little attention to the black/white theme. When I first watched "Raise by Another", I think it was that episode, back when Claire's had that wacky dream, I figured "black and white" was the point of the show. That all this was leading up to some great conflict between to opposite sides and Claire's baby would be the one to tip the scales in one side's favor. That has still been a huge theme to me even last season when it seemed like the Losties were splitting into two camps. I think my frustration is that I want to see more of it and no one is delievering.

All that said, I do understand that it is your podcast and you get to direct the programming. I'll still listen every week and sit on my hands until the next episode comes out. Thanks for everything!

Pete

Fuck you SONY PLAYSTATION and your cock-sucking support for PS2 Madden 2007 Online! Just because you came out with your over-priced, over-hyped, piece of cunt console Playstation 3 that I heard doesn't hold a mutha-fuck'n candle to Xbox 360...doesn't mean you stick your finger in the consumer's cake who still own PS2 and use the Online service. Go fist the fat neighbor kid's mom's pussy, you whores. You're so goddam worried about a few extra bucks you squeeze out of the common gamer, that your Liberman money conscious dick licking selves go ahead and fuck your previous customers right in the butthole. I hope you die Japanese, slant eyed, prick licking Sony exec's and I hope you get a gigantic sliver in your anus that becomes infected before you do. Go to hell, assholes.

Madden 2007 Online for PS2 sucks big southern bush-y, pussy!

Nice Videos Matt, you gotta wonder how much random searching you do to find this good stuff.

Well, we are near the end of a long, long road. Less than one week to go! Can you stand the excitement??

Re: spoilers
My take was expressed very succinctly in the podcast:
'Don't get your spoiler panties in a wad.'
