*takes firstsies*

I saw the episode a few nights back, through a streaming site...go me

anyho, I look forward to the cast as ever guys

RobC

First?

RobC

Damn!!!!!

Rob van de Berg

Great stuff again!!

Jon W

Only a minute in it...Unlucky Rob ;)

connor

Those dance remixes are a waste of time - just get to the good stuff!

Phil

I havent even listented yet and I can already say stop with the damn dance remixes. They arent adding anything to the podcast and are just taking up time. I just hope they arent as bad as the Tasha one last week, that was terrible!

Tasha

Note to self:

Stay away from the podcast, i add nothing to it,

ManOfScienceFJC

first 11 minutes = skipped over.

pearson

^same here

Haven't had time to listen to the podcast yet, so apologies if this was covered. Anyone know what the significance of the 3 dates on Jin's gravestone? I get the date of birth and 'death' on the right, but what is the date on the left - March 20th 1980?

ManOfScienceFJC

Oh god, got to the end--great show as usual, thanks guys and Tasha--BUT PLEASE NO DANCE MIXES. Sry for the people who took the time to make them but they aren't why I listen and they detract from the overall length of the actual discussion I think.

Desmond in Chicago

Ughh!!! Two weeks of dance mixes. Enough already guys. Please just stick to the LOST coverage. I've enjoyed your podcast for a long time, but lately it's been getting weak. It's a shame, cause Lost has been great this season.

Arbucklefatty

The other date on the tombstone is Sun's Birthdate. It is a standard married person tombstone that is bought pre-death with the birthdates of both husband and wife engraved. After they die the dates of death are then added.

sun is a fatty

I did listen to it, and these remixes are just an annoyance I have to skip over after I figure out how much of that nonsense goes on.

Also, I will add my voice to those that say Tasha doesn't contribute enough to warrant the time she takes up and the distraction she causes. She's a turn-off factor for this podcast (I won't say she contributes nothing though, as others have suggested)

Having said that thanks for the time and effort spent on entertaining and informing us since the podcast started, and being the best alternative to The Transmission after it stopped. I'm just not sure I'll still be a listener in a week.

pearson

The transmission podcast is back dude,
i know it was and still is my favorite lost podcast,

they started podcasting again for season 4

Snow

Please remove Tasha from the show. Thanks.

Snow

I thought I would qualify my request for removing Tasha from the show.

I am all for a woman's presence on the show (I am a woman myself). However, you have chosen Farrah Fawcett when the Lost crowd that is listening to your podcast is looking for Sandra Day O'Connor. What I mean to say is that the laugh is beyond annoying and I echo the thoughts that Tasha really adds nothing to the podcast.

Thanks.

Snow

O.K. Tasha. One more thing. If you are receiving comments, such as my own, that perhaps your presence on the podcast is not as compelling as it could be. I would ask yourself:

Am I coming prepared to the podcast or am I just showing up?

Do I have thoughtful comments to bring to the podcast?

Do I have a topic that I am particularly interested in that I can speak intelligently on?

Have I researched components of the show to bring to the podcast? (Same preparedness issue.)

You may be able to avoid the "Tasha isn't useful" comments by coming to the podcast prepared and armed with intelligent comments, thoughts and theories.

Cameron

I would like to say, yet again, that this is a fantastic podcast.

Tasha is great, the remixes are a great little bonus; it is always good to hear something a bit different added in. I see that lots of people have differing views and all, which is fine, but as a long time listener, I am completely happy with the podcasts and grateful for each new instalment.

I suspect that people who like the podcast just download it and listen. So the gripes on the board aren't likely to be a representative view of listener opinions.

On a more personal note, I hope that John, Matt, Robert and Tasha know that there is a lot of support and appreciation out there for the hard work that they put in. The weekly LOST 'cycle' would not be the same if it were just the episodes and no podcast. Thanks again for your great work.

I have one comment re the last episode and the Oceanic 6: if Ben were in control of Oceanic (which seems to be a reasonable conclusion) surely he could get his name onto the copy of the manifest that is in the company's computer systems? I think the story that they will agree/be forced to tell the real world will be that Ben was a passenger as well. I think that he is one of the Oceanic 6, not Aaron, who would not be counted, since he was not born at the time the flight left Australia.

Issac

Guys, I started listening to your podcasts from episode 2 of season 4 and I found it to be very interesting... until last week.
PLEASE stop with the dance mixes, these are really lame and geeky and are not the reason why the listeners are tuning in for.
As for Tasha, it's nothing personal, but you have a distinctive voice that is not suitable for radio.

Thanks, and keep up the good work !

Nick

Where is the forum that they mention on the podcast? I don't see a link to them on the site.

Nick

I want to read the thread about the time line of the Flashforwards going in reverse as the Island/Freighter timeline goes forward. Reminds me on Memento (The black and white segments go forward as the color segments are in reverse)

Mark B

Sorry about the double post.

I believe this is the actual thread the guys refer to ....

Claire and Jin in a dynamite fight? I think they're saving that for sweeps.

Osbo

Haven't listened to this week's podcast yet, but I have read some of these comments. All I have to say is that this is, by far, the best damned Lost podcast ever, and these people just shouldn't ruin it all for us.

Thanks again!

Steve

This was the first time I've had to fast-forward one of your podcasts. Not trying to ruin it for anyone but those dance mixes have got to go. Also I think Snow hit the nail on the head about Tasha...

WeakLemonDrink

Yeah, guys, I REALLY appreciate what you do with the cast, but please don't make the mistake of making the whole thing about you. It's about the show and it's about your ability to cherry pick the best subjects to talk and expand on.

I don't mind Tasha especially, but I was listening to an older cast which featured Brian and I realised that the 'Cast is missing him a great deal. It would be fantastic if you could lure him back on a more regular basis because I'm getting the feeling that the current lineup is getting bored and not putting in nearly as much research or time into it as they used to.

John B.

Do you guys actually ENJOY this show, or just talk about it for the heck of it? 10 minutes of dance remixes and a flurry of "eh" reactions to an episode where Michael returns and Jin is revealed to have died? Wow...

Leeward

Ok. ENOUGH with the "dance remixes" already! They're annoying and totally self-serving. They might be funny to you, but they're just a nuisance to us. 15 minutes of that crap! Seriously!?

And for the love of all things sacred, get rid of the girl! That laugh is like nails on a chalkboard. I get it. She's someone's girlfriend or whatever. And I'm not saying you need to make it a boys club, but at this point I'd rather you brought a barking dog or a screaming newborn than some girl who just giggles the whole time. YIKES! Normally I drop everything to sit and listen intently to this podcast. But lately I've had to take a break just to rest my poor ears. I'm actually embarrassed for you.

Do the right thing. Listen to the fans. Take a page from LOST and bury Tasha and the dance remixes alive just like Nikki and Paulo.

Arbucklefatty

Here is a solution for the dance mixes. Put them at the END of the podcast like you do with spoilers and give a warning before you play them so that those who wish not to partake can tune out. If that works out well, then maybe you can do the same thing with Tasha...LOL, JK!!

mona lisa

for god sake PLEASE stop those stupid remixes. is it a teenage house party or still my favourite lost podcast?

Hamish

By way of balance to some of the unkind remarks here, I'd just say that you guys do this for free and you do an outstanding job. I think the extent to which your work is welcomed was evidenced by the enormous array of comments this site attracted (good and bad) when you were on a hiatus. I guess some of the bad lingers, quite unnecessarily in my view. If people don't like parts of it, maybe a bit of gentle feedback is OK, but the personal stuff stinks. I like the mixed array of talents and enthusiasms that you bring to the podcast - and I like the way that you intelligently delve into the substance of the show. Keep up the great work, all of you.

pocket

I love this podcast - it seems like you guys are always thinking along the same lines as I am. I also like Tasha, and she's one of the only Lost podcasters who is a woman and doesn't sound like an idiot *cough*gspn*cough*. So I do appreciate that. But I have to agree that she does consistently seem less prepared for the podcast than the rest of the crew. So maybe she could just make some notes in advance and take on one or two of the fan fora to report back on. Maybe some aspect of the show that she is particularly interested in. I also think that 1 dance remix per episode is about all I can handle.

Leeward

I'd like to echo the idea that, after listening to some of the older podcasts again, that maybe everyone on the cast isn't as into it as they used to be. I hope this isn't true because I truly do LOVE listening to it, but the cast seems to lack that enthusiasm and in depth discussion that it used to have.

Pomegranate

Maybe the remixes can live somewhere and be linked to the page and people who want to hear them can listen to them and the podcast can stay show-oriented.

And dudes, if you're kind of over the podcast (which I hope is not the case), let it go. We'll survive. But don't let it fade into lameness.... Go back and listen to some from season 2 and compare that level of intensity to the "eh" intensity now.

I will totally keep listening though 'cuz I appreciate that you spend your own time researching and podcasting and everything.

col_mustard

This podcast is in a flat spin! Tasha's voice makes it unlistenable at any speed! STOP THE MADNESS! You are killing us!!!!!!!!!

P.S. The "dance remixes" are not authorized under the Geneva Convention.

Jon W

I'll have to add my voice to the 'scrap dance remixes'...it is a massive waste of time...Id rather you just play white noise...

Aside from that, keep it up guys, Im one of the long time listeners...and its great that you guys keep coming out with great casts

Christen

What HAPPENED to my favorite Lost podcast? It's virtually unlistenable this season with all of the dance remixes and Tasha's incessant, vacuous giggling. I used to eagerly listen to it before any other podcasts but now I only listen to it if I have some spare time. Please get back to the old-style, serious discussions that you used to feature instead of whatever this podcast has evolved into. It seems that by including Tasha when she serves only to detract from the quality of the show is a big F U to the fans who post here and are begging you not to have her on anymore.

none of the above

I'm a pretty mild mannered person and would not stoop to the lowest level of name calling or personal abuse but fear that Tasha is getting some deserved flak. She does add very little to the cast and I think she actually detracts from what Matt, John and Robert say, or want to say. Perhaps it's that the "guys" are intimidated by her. I'd not say that she should leave just come along and only say something when she has something to say that adds to the conversation. Do some research, speak about something rather than commenting of what someone else says. And yes the laugh is annoying especially when it comes at the end of every comment. I don't think the cast in general has gotten any worse but something does seem to have changed -- maybe it was the long hiatus, maybe it's the back to back episodes, maybe it's the variable members of the cast. It can't be the quality of the show as by general concensus these are some of the best episodes ever.

Ron

Sorry guys, I have to echo the comments above. What used to be my favourite Lost podcast (and favourite podcast!) is virtually unlistenable these days. Tasha is only where your problems start. The dance remix stuff is just plain stupid. The gigling and talking over each other wouldn't be so bad if you actually had something to say. Just when the show is hitting its' stride, you folks seem to have lost interest. By the way, I just unsubscribed on iTunes

bennett

ohh tasha is in this one? i wont be tuning in this week then.. my dog knows more about lost then her, plus my dog doesnt laugh like a retard. so i will go talk to him

crank

i have an idea, tasha likes greys anatomy so muhc, why doesnt she start her own greys podcast, and then she can get the fuck off this one. i literally have a headache from her cackle

Jabba Da Hut

Maybe Tasha can just dance in the background like "slave girl leia" from star wars while you record your podcast. That'd be hot. Better yet, have Robert do it

Making my own podcast

I'm glad everyone on here thinks they have creative control of this podcast. you guys can do whatever the fuck you want and that's fine. I'll still subscribe. I'll still listen. if I hate your dance remix, I'll skip past it. If I don't like what the hosts say or how they "giggle" I'll listen to something else. I can't believe how many "this is how you should research, record & pattern your speech to your podcast" posts are up here. If you don't like it, go listen to something else & quit bitching about it.

That's just my 2 cents. got to go fire off an email to Damon & Carlton because their night scenes are too dark, their day scenes are too bright and I never really cared for the whole "flash forward" device they've been using so much lately. I'm sure if I post it on their comment section under 15 different aliases, they'll make the appropriate changes

ManOfScienceFJC

How can you be all for them making the show however they want, which some would agree is declining, and not be for the expression of criticism? It's just a comments section, and this is just the internet. The reason these comments are like this is because of the love people have for this podcast. Some are taking it too far because of the anonymity of the internet but that comes with the territory. Every public figure/famous person has to deal with praise and criticism, this applies even to the "internet famous". If you put yourself out there for people to see than criticisms are to be expected. Also, even though they aren't making a profit from the cast doesn't mean it isn't a 'product'. Just because something is free doesn't mean it's immune to criticism.
So yeah, I agree people aren't being very constructive but its just a podcast and a comments section on a medium sized site. Everyone needs to chill, hopefully Lostcasts will improve.

Ian_from_Liverpool_UK

I think either moving the Dance Re-mixes to the end of the Podcast is a good idea, or preferably just link to them from the website in case people choose to listen to them.

As for Tasha, people are being WAY over-personal and harsh. Some of what has been said is constructive, so let's hope Tasha can take some of it on-board, and come back to the Podcast and contribute more.

Thanks for the GREAT and FREE Podcast guys (and girl). I imagine that it can be hard to fit it into your schedule sometimes, so don't forget that a lot of us appreciate it.

Ben Linus is sexy

I like popcorn

Matt Jones

Fuck all yall.

ronnie

my fellow commentors, why even try? obviously, the hosts don't care the podcast is suffering with the addition of tasha. They make it a point to keep tasha on the show to show us that we don't make the call; they do.

I would suggest to the hosts that rather than going cold turkey with the tasha situation, you should instead phase her out gradually. This way, you can save face, and we can eventually go back to a tasha-free podcast.

Jes'

RE: people complaints about the 'casts

When they were on hiatus, you were the main ones whining like bitches. Now that it's back and committed to making it more fun, you wanna pick bones... (Aigoo...)

And to those who are making shots at Tasha: you're crushing on her and it's "sooooo obvious." Can you guys beat-off to her voice w/o making me a proxy; I'd appreciate it.

THANK YOU, goodnight, and enjoy the veal :)

ManOfScienceFJC

@JES' How again is the cast more fun?

WTF???

That was the worst, most disorganized, and pointless shit I've ever listened to. Tasha is a pointless addition to your show. The obviously fat nerd guy is an annoying know it all. Write an outline for your cast. Stick to it. Your dance mixes aren't funny or interesting. They are the depraved workings of a bored, jobless jerk with windows sound recorder and some crappy tracks. PLEASE make this show better. PLLLEEEAAASSEEEEE!!!!!111

Jes'

@ ManOfScienceFJC:

I didn't say it "was" more fun. I said they were committed to making it more fun.. If you're gonna read and respond to my posts, at least read AND understand the text first; not a demand, just a suggestion :)

So they're trying different things, like adding a lady's perspective, for instance. And contributing "fan-stuff" like mixes and lost links. As long as the tv show itself remains consistent, it's all good. I tune in to Lostcasts to get other people's perspectives on the show and I get that (b/c I don't run into Lost fans outside of the Internet); THANKS, LOSTCASTS!

Even your opinion matters, ManOfScienceFJC, but so does mine. I guess we're at a stalemate, which means I won because you took time out of your busy schedule to respond to "me." I'm sorry that you can't get those 2 seconds of your life back.. lol!

Like I said: I won.
Dunk at the buzzer...! :)

I think it's important that the valid and well made points in here shouldn't be ignored just because some people don't know how to conduct themselves.

As people begin to age the gods employ corrupting tactics. They ultimately begin to look down on th

As people begin to age the gods employ corrupting tactics. They ultimately begin to look down on the children and the wisdom they recently understood:::
They voluntarily turn their back on their opportunity to ascend and instead embrace evil.
It's not old people who go to heaven. Old people must come back because of the mistakes they've made throughout their lives. Children are the ones who have the opportunity to ascend.

Children are discounted by adults in society. The gods corrupt people as they age, use trust-building tactics and soon adults view the children as ignorant, yet to understand the god's system, and subsequently look down on the children. This is one of the most bitter, painful ironies the gods employ, for people consciously turn their back on and lose their opportunity to ascend::::
Religions teach that old people to go to heaven when they die. They don't. Old people are reincarnated. It's the children who go to heaven, those who have a chance at immortality.
The wisdom the gods impart to children, either through their innocence/purity or religious-based educational pursuits are the gods sharing the truth with their most favored people::::It's the children whom the gods teach the right way for it is the children who have a chance. For example, they teach children to have faith, for understanding the god's geographical clues hurts people by illustrating negative things, opening the door for the god's to employ deceptive tactics.
Old people don't go to heaven. Old people must come back because of the mistakes they've made throughout their lives. It's the children who have the opportunity to go to "heaven". They must behave apprioriately, think correctly and be genuinely god-fearing. Their innocence and lack of desensitization ensures they have a real opportunity to achieve this goal.

This is charecteristic of the gods methodology::::The big prize gone early, deception compels people to chase something that has already been decided. They sent this clue with boss as well. It is also a clue supporting my claim RW&B's german is in fact Christianity's Anti-Christ. Logic also dictates, considering the definition.
The confusion over this multi-dimentional positioning will serve as an effective tactic, eliminating many additional disfavored in the process, for positioning states the Apocalypse to be a continuation of WorldWarII's Aryan superrace ideals, positioned as punishment for the 5th century invastion of the Roman Empire:::John's Fourth Reich.
This amounts only to "nested theater":::::Levels of positioning enables the gods to scapegoat:::::RW&B merely is the tool the gods chose to execute the final scene of their scripted theater that is human history.

Just as they would have had me chase boss so would they have wanted me to sign on to this theater, evil by definition, and chase this role of Anti-Christ. By doing so I would have incurred evil and would have been punished, painfully "losing" Anti-Christ in the process.
Does that mean RW&B is not the Anti-Christ?? I suspect as they would have "offered" it to me so will there be a fake Anti-Christ for those in these generations to accept as well. But it is a clone host. This is ALL clone host theater, created not as a clue to me but instead designed to be preditory on the disfavored, designed to increase indecency and further the god's goal of justification towards The End.
We were all merely peasants centuries ago, struggling with our disfavor, but without the enormity of temptations, real and telepathic, which exist today.

They have shared I was positioned to some disfavored as the Second Coming of Christ, explaining all the evil surrounding me and RW&B's placement in the "eye of The Beast" was to positon the sabotage of my candidacy (Damien Omen, Big Army Men, etc).
The Big Lie of course is that Christianity is evil. The reverse positioning nature of Planet Earth dictates that good is demonized, as we wintessed in World War II, while evil is put on a pedistal, as we see with the Italians.
The truth? The gods used their tools to create this and the rest of the incidents surrounding this Situation to distract the people from my message, for I speak the truth:::Only you can save you. You have to be responsible for your own relationship with the gods.

The gods are asexual. They have no sex organs nor rectums.
When the gods take children these individuals have the opportunity to become "god-like". Temptations are employed and, if sucessful, these are the individuals who make up the human race's immortals.
I believe there are opportunities that exist for females that do no exist for males. I don't mean to paint with a broad brush but women's "sexual peak" may represent the transistion to "sociological males" and their "fall from grace". Considering today's promiscuity I question whether this is currently applicable, and is yet anther 20th century-earlier phenominah.
I believe Purgatory is real. I think it is a temporary destination, perhaps sparsely utilized until the Apocalypse, but this will be the destination for those who "ascend" during the event. As they've said this planet will too be disposed of one day and it is imperative people try to avoid that destination, for there may be no escaping its fate.
