For the record, I enjoy Lostcasts just as much as I always have. I never really thought you guys jumped the shark, and appreciate your podcasts.
WHAT KATE DOES:
What Kate does on-island is run after Sawyer when he told her not to, have a chat, and then turn around to run back. What a waste of a character. I liked this episode, but only for Claire, Sayid, etc. Hope we never get another Kate episode again.
THE SUBSTITUTE:
Incredible episode. Kate wasn't among the rest of the candidates - is she officially irrelevant? If so, thank god. Buy WHY wasn't her name up there when Jakob has visited her in the past? THEORY: Remember the context of Jacob's visit to Kate? He reprimanded her from stealing and told her to be good. I’m assuming blowing up your dad, no matter the reason, officially counts as bad. She did not stay on the path Jacob meant her to – and thus is no longer considered a candidate. I wonder if "Austen" was crossed off somewhere in that cave…
When they were headed down the cliff, was anyone else thinking "Jacob's ladder?" Also, if I saw Richard running scared, I would be running too.

in the episode, "THE SUBSTITUTE", when Ben Linus introduces himself to John Locke as the European History teacher, and then John introduces himself as "John Locke"; don't you think mr Euroaean History Linus would've just immediately said, " well that's quite a name you got there pal... (etc, etc)(so on, so forth)
But whatever, that's an observation that's really neither here nor there.
