Blargh! You all are supposed to sync your availability with the awesome episodes! Ah well, perhaps more time to ruminate will lead to brilliant revelations. Catch you next week.

Great episode this week. Then again, anything Desmond is in becomes a game-changing episode, and while I'm not sure about Henry Ian Cusick's acting range (he will always be Desmond to me), his character is the "third leg" keeping the story line standing tall (the others being Ben & Locke). Pity we had to go so long before seeing him again.
Ah, and good to see Charlie again, though it reminded me that I can only take his character in small doses.
So, are we to take it that death/near-death is the way to traverse the realities? Is Desmond going to have to "nearly kill" various people from the plane to show them what's going on? Is that why Juliet said "It worked" as she died in Sawyer's arms? My guess is that Desmond will have to sacrifice himself in one last electromagnetic event (and a natural one, not artificial, which is why Zoey was asking Jin about magnetic pockets on the island) to die from this timeline and lock people into their respective timelines.
Random thought: remember how Smokey said "if I could just fly over to Hydra Island, don't you think I would have by now?" and remember how you had to approach the island by exactly one trajectory? I think these were all safeguards to keep Smokey imprisoned on the island, and now it's been lifted now that Jacob's dead -- otherwise Smokey/Man-in-Black wouldn't have kept asking Jacob to "let him leave." So Desmond's sacrifice, whatever that may end up being, may successfully close whatever hole that's been opened by Jacob's death.
Can't wait for next week!

Reivew the above link. It shows ben in Whitmore's office in season (3?) and half of his face is black, the other half white. We also see two versions of the black rock boat picture, just like there are two versions of the scale pic. in the recent episode. Based on seeing how black and white they made Ben in Whitmore's office, I conclude that we're not done with him. Whitmore wanted Ben to kill Alex as a baby so that it would never be a tipping point for him later when he sees her killed. I conclude that Jacob always orders the kids killed or sent back to alt. universe because they are innocent and not meant to be stuck in limbo/perguatory to be tested.

WIDMORE
Posted by: People should pay attention | April 09, 2010 at 03:22 AM
Anybody noticed that Eloise Widmore (Hawking) seems to know an awful lot about more than just the reality in which we see her.
Don't forget when she first met Desmond in the jewellery shop, as he time-travelled back to Penny's flat, and considered whether or not to buy Penny an engagement ring. She sure seemed to know a lot about Desmond's 'destiny' then.
Also, I noticed that instead of being angry about Charlie's band not being able to perform, she instead said "What happened, happened".
Sound familiar ?
Daniel (her son) explaining to the Losties who were skipping through time that they could not change the past.

As someone who's bitched about the declining frequency and thoughtfulness of Lostcasts the last couple years, I must say that you've done much better this season.

You guys used to be pretty entertaining. I wish with this being the last season you would have made more of an effort to be timely with your podcast. I'm not paying anything for it but as a fan I really expected more from you all.
Things change, people move on, but if you're gonna half-arse it then why bother? Ego?

What's up with the week long delay god.

This is what the problem is with LOST season 6 . . . many of our original characters are still getting screen time, but they are either totally not themselves or just shells/zombies of themselves. The body of Locke is the smoke monster now, Sayid is who knows what, just a zombie, Desmond also on the island just a go with the flow zombie, Jack is no longer a leader, same goes for Ben, and Sawyer, Sun, Kate, Frank and Miles just along for the ride and have no impact on what is to be done on the island.

To the whiners - even Darlton skips podcasts ever other week, perhaps they've lost interest too? Keep up the good work guys!

The book that Hurley picks up and examines in the episode “Everybody Loves Hurley” is “Notes from Underground” by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It is available as a free Amazon Kindle download at http://www.amazon.com/Notes-from-the-Underground-ebook/dp/B002RKSXH8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1271262370&sr=1-1
