How could you not have THE WHISPERS as one of your Top 10 mysteries?

@Matt: I think you are on to something with Jacob possibly representing Lucifer. In Christian tradition, Lucifer was an angel of light, one of the most beautiful angels. He became arrogant and full of pride and chose to leave God's presence. I believe Milton coined the phrase, "tis better to rule in Hell than to serve in Heaven". So Lucifer recruited a group of angels and they left Heaven.
Lucifer is said to be a king of deception and uses lies and manipulation to pull people away from God's purposes. (As a side note, the word "Satan" isn't a name, it is a transliteration of the Hebrew word "Ha'Satan" meaning, "the accuser, or the adversary".)
Jacob always seems to be benevolent, reminding people that they have a choice, but perhaps he is merely manipulating them, playing them to stray from the better way.
I feel it is too obvious that Jacob is good and MiB is bad. That is far too easy for LOST. Think about our main characters; few of them are all good or all bad. Jack is a decent guy, but he has addiction issues, control issues, and pride issues. Sawyer, the con-man, will lie, cheat, and steal, but actually has a heart of gold. And Sayid, the torturer, (before he became infected) would put everyone before himself: especially Nadia. Hurley is probably the only character who is mostly good.
For most of this season, I have suspected that we will find out that Jacob is not what he seems. Don't get me wrong, I think MiB is probably a pretty bad dude, but Jacob might only be a slightly better dude.
